AI is the simulation of human intelligence in machines. Computers are increasingly being programmed to act and think like humans; whether good or bad, they are already impacting our day-to-day lives. Chris Skinner is an award-winning Senior Director of Business and Strategic Planning at CBC-Radio Canada, and a digital media executive with over 20 years of experience with companies such as CTV, St. Joseph Media, and Anthem Sports Media. He will discuss the allure of AI and showcase real-time examples of how it works. He will share some of the moral and ethical implications surrounding its use, why it’s so controversial, and why people are calling for it to be regulated.

About Event
Classically-trained pianist and Northtown favourite Shaya Petroff returns for a performance with cellist Naomi Barron. Naomi has a multifaceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and educator. She’s recorded live in studio for CBC-Radio Canada, and performs regularly with the TSO, the Canadian Opera Company, and at the internationally acclaimed ‘Orquesta Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia’ opera house in Spain.
